WORKING FOR YOU | Big Stone II is a $1.6 billion, coal-fired power plant. Construction is scheduled to begin in
mid 2009. The project will run approximately 40 months, with a completion date set for 2013. The Eastern South Dakota Building and Construction Trades Council will be coordinating the construction employment.  At the peak of construction, around 1,500 construction workers will be needed for the various crafts building the plant. The location of the job is just outside of Big Stone City, on the South Dakota and Minnesota border, about half way between Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Fargo, North Dakota.
